Urinary Tract Infection

UTIs occur when bacteria travel up the urethra and into the bladder. If left untreated, a UTI can lead to more severe kidney infections, potentially requiring emergency medical care. Roughly half of all women will experience a UTI at some point, with 20% experiencing recurring infections. Sexual activity is often a trigger for recurrent UTIs.
